TMPC News March 2020

Dear TMPC Family,

2020 is moving quickly and there are some new initiatives in the church that you would be aware of by now: the Bargain Centre transition being explained this morning at church, and the new weekly Evening Church service which began in February. Please pray for these new ministry initiatives as they progress into 2020. On behalf of the church I want to thank all of you who commit your time and energy to the daily work of the church. From working in the kitchen to serving on a committee, leading or hosting a growth group, volunteering at the Bargain Centre, child minding, teaching children and teens, organising music, singing, greeting, media, cleaning, opening up or locking up…and many more ‘works of service’. All of these contribute to the maintaining of a local expression of the body of Christ on Tamborine Mountain. Our church building is situated in the middle of North Tamborine and has ministry now reaching to people off the mountain both west and east. This is a challenge and an opportunity for which we need to remain faithful to the gospel as we speak it, and teach it, and share it with those around us. We meet weekly as God’s church to worship him and encourage one another in the faith, as we are reminded in Hebrews 10:24, ‘And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another -and all the more as you see the Day approaching.’ We live in a country that protects our freedom to gather for religious worship. For this we should give thanks. And we should also continue to pray for opportunities (open doors) to publicise that faith through our church ministry and the many conversations that take place through the week in our workplaces and social circles. (If you crunch the numbers there would be a minimum of one thousand conversations a week where we in the church engage with those outside the church!) Please pray for one another so that these opportunities are taken up by us and contribute to the extension and growth of God’s church.

‘Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.’ Colossians 4:6
